Making a Difference

A residential care home set in rural East Sussex

Set in a peaceful rural location on the edge of the village of Dallington, Carricks Brook is home to 12 residents with Autism and behaviours of concern, supported by a high ratio of specialist trained support staff.

Opened in August 2009 Carricks Brook has 12 en-suite bedrooms, with bright, open communal areas that allow staff to balance our residents changing needs. The rural setting of the home offers a retreat for those who benefit from a private & peaceful environment.

The service is staffed by a high ratio of support staff specifically trained to enable residents who present with behaviours of concern to reach their full potential using varied techniques. Tailored to the individual, these may include: Positive Behaviour Analysis, Picture Exchange Communication System, Social Stories, Makaton and Symbols.

We employ our own in-house trainer in N.A.P.P.I. techniques (Non-Abusive, Psychological and Physical Intervention), which enables us to create & implement highly individual & effective Positive Behaviour Support plans.

Our motivation is always to improve the persons quality of life by being person centred.
