After successfully raising more than £35,000, Oakdown House is thrilled to be able to offer Carricks Brook residents the opportunity to use their newly opened swim spa pool at the home.
Hope you are all keeping safe and enjoying the lovely weather. With restrictions easing slightly our lovely residents at Oakdown & Carricks have managed to enjoy some outings, see family more and have made the most of the good weather.
Everyone, everywhere is talking about ‘the end of lockdown’, this too is the topic of conversation at two local residential homes for adults with learning disabilities. The prospect of freedom and ‘normality’ is exciting but staff and residents of both Oakdown House and Carricks Brook are moving forward with caution, keeping everyone safe is still of paramount importance.
Although lots of you may not like the snow, the residents at Oakdown and Carricks had a great time in the snow; they enjoyed wintery walks and snowball throwing. It gave everyone a new reason to get outside for some fresh air and fun!
Residents and staff at Oakdown House and Carricks Brook continue to deal with the changes brought about by Coronavirus amazingly well.
The residents of both Oakdown House and Carricks Brook have been enjoying a little more freedom with the easing of the COVID-19 restrictions. Residents have enjoyed trips to the beach and walks in parks, always mindful of keeping their distance from others. On wetter days residents have enjoyed many activities within the homes but there seems to have been a particular interest in baking and cooking this month!
