Activities

At Carricks Brook we take a very flexible and individual outlook to daily activities which are led by the Residents. We have four dedicated company vehicles which allow residents to fully access their community for recreational, medical, educational and vocational purposes.

On-site Activities

Within the home, we encourage all residents to be active in the running of their own home. Household duties such as laundry, shopping, cooking, recycling, gardening and DIY are all activities which residents are supported to engage in at level that suits them best.

We run regular cookery sessions on a 1:1 basis as well as supporting residents to access the kitchen to prepare their own meals. The large gardens are looked after by our residents, supported by staff & our maintenance team. We offer a range of activities on-site including arts & crafts, music, trampolining & our very own outdoor splash pool and adventure equipment! We have several computer stations in our large activity area.

Activities in the Community

Shopping trips, woods or seafront walks, swimming, picnics, sailing, community discos & band night are regular excursions & activities, however other interests can be pursued in the locality: cinema trips, rock climbing, bowling, horse riding, zumba to name a few.

Some residents attend college courses at the nearby South Downs College, whilst others undertake volunteer work run under specialist placement schemes.

Residents at Carricks Brook are also able to access Day Services provided in our purpose-built facility at our sister home, Oakdown House.
